Sedation Dentistry
Do you have dental anxiety or fear? This can help you!
What Is Sedation Dentistry?
A relaxing and pain-free way to visit your trusted dentist in Indianapolis.

What kind of sedation do dentists use?
Our Indy dentist, Dr. Jiyun Thompson, offers two types of sedation dentistry options to help your mind and body completely relax:
With our dental sedation, you will remain awake during your appointment, but time will go by quicker, you won’t feel any pain, and you may even forget you’re at the dentist’s office.

Which Type of Dental Sedation Is Right for You?
Discover the difference between nitrous oxide vs. oral sedation.

Nitrous oxide, commonly referred to as laughing gas, offers a light level of sedation. You inhale the gas through a nosepiece, and within 2-3 minutes, you will feel a full-body euphoria of relaxation. Our team will monitor and adjust your level of gas to keep you comfortable. After your appointment, you will be able to drive yourself home.

Oral sedation provides mild to moderate levels of sedation, depending on your prescribed dosage by Dr. Thompson. This anti-anxiey medication is often taken before and during your appointment. You can expect a calming, drowsy effect with possible tingling sensations. After the procedure, you will need someone to drive you home, and you may not remember the appointment.
Both of our sedation options are safe, effective, and do not require needles for administration.

Dr. Thompson and Amanda are the best! They've always treated me so nicely and are both extremely gentle and always ask how I'm doing and make sure I'm comfortable. It took me a lot to work up the courage to schedule my first appt due to previous bad experiences at a younger age. I won't go anywhere else now. Thank you!
